KAYANZA, November 15th (ABP) – On Wednesday 13 November 2024, the governor of Kayanza (north) brought together all the staff of the Kayanza Provincial One-Stop Shop (GUP) to see how this institution operates.
At the same time, he gave a series of tips to the staff of this counter so that applicants for various documents do not have to keep travelling down to Bujumbura when they should be collecting them without spending too much money, according to local sources.
During the meeting, the head of the Kayanza GUP, Sosthène Ndereyimana, pointed out that the staff under his authority were working in synergy, making it easier for applicants for the various documents issued by this institution.
However, he deplored the fact that the police officers working there have long been demanding secondment bonuses. Reacting to this concern, Cishahayo did not beat about the bush, pointing out that it was the ministry in charge of the civil service that should be paying these bonuses, given that they now work within that ministry.
Cishahayo also invited the GUP staff of Kayanza to welcome those who confide in them and to analyse their documents carefully in order to avoid serving criminals or foreigners, especially as this province borders Rwanda. He also urged them to fight corruption.
The Kayanza GUP opened its doors in 2020 and has already issued more than 7,860 documents, including more than 1,500 passports, more than 2,000 laissez-passer, more than 250 driving licences and many other documents
