RUTANA, May 28 (ABP) – Pastor Barnabé Nsabimana, presented on Wednesday, May 20, 2025, his society project for the extended Musongati commune. In an interview with ABP, he explained that he wants to work for the well-being of the population if elected as a communal councilor.

Among his objectives, he wishes to promote respect for human rights, support social and economic development, train citizens intellectually and professionally, and protect the environment. To achieve this, he plans to draw inspiration from the teachings of the Bible and the content of the Burundian Constitution. He declared his intention to change the mindset of Burundians to build a better society while preserving the country’s good traditions. He stated that he is committed to eradicating crime, poverty, ignorance, problems within religious denominations and families, as well as environmental destruction.

For greater effectiveness, Nsabimana mentioned that he intends to create a non-profit association that will provide support in several areas: spiritual, social, economic, intellectual, physical, and cultural, in collaboration with the communal councils of all 42 communes of the country. He also emphasized the fight against malnutrition, school dropout, and child trafficking, protecting the rights of Burundian children. Nsabimana indicated that his project mainly lies on two major pillars: intellectual training to reduce crime in society and strengthening human capacities to achieve the vision of an “emerging Burundi in 2040 and developed in 2060.”
On the economic front, he plans to work with local authorities to promote trade exchanges between Burundi and other countries. He wishes to import and export goods according to the resources available in each country, after collecting information during study trips. Finally, he calls on all Burundians to work in synergy to build a country that is peaceful, prosperous, and proud of its values.
