KAYANZA, May 27 (ABP) – Around 133 bedbound patients at Kayanza hospital in the Kayanza health province (north) received food assistance on Saturday, May 24, 2025, consisting of corn flour, porridge flour, sugar, and fruits. This aid was provided by students from the “East African Leadership Institute (EALI)” campus, Kayanza branch, a check on site by ABP revealed. In an interview with ABP at the end of the activity, the head of this university community Gaspard Nsengiyumva testified that they had brought 500 kg of corn flour, 50 kg of porridge flour, 50 kg of sugar, and fruits.
For him, this charitable act was carried out to encourage students not to focus solely on academic skills but to instill in them a spirit of social responsibility and mutual support, especially as they expect to become future leaders.
Nsengiyumva took the opportunity to indicate that a similar gesture will soon be made at the detention center of the provincial police station in Kayanza. As for the beneficiaries of this aid, they expressed feelings of satisfaction. Taking advantage of this opportunity, they called on all charitable souls to follow the example of these EALI University students, Kayanza branch.
