BUJUMBURA, November 29th (ABP) – The Cabinet met on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in Bujumbura, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye, according to the press release from the Secretary General of State.
According to the press release, the Cabinet analyzed the sectoral policy document of the Ministry of Commerce, Transport, Industry and Tourism and its implementation strategy; the draft law ratifying the framework cooperation agreement between the Government of the Republic of Chad and the Government of the Republic of Burundi; the expenditure commitment ceilings for the second quarter of 2024-2025.
The Cabinet also analyzed the note on the status of the loan agreement signed between the Exim Bank of India and the Government of the Republic of Burundi, as part of the construction of the Parliament Palace and ministerial buildings; the draft joint ordinance fixing the remuneration of the staff of the permanent executive secretariat and the amount of attendance fees for members of the academic council and resource persons of the Rundi academy.
The Cabinet also analyzed two draft agreements. These are the draft agreement for additional financing of the Jiji and Mulembwe hydroelectric project and additional financing of the project to accelerate the transformation of access to clean and sustainable energy in Burundi.
Other projects were analyzed. This is the draft decree on the modalities of application of law number 1/19 of August 4, 2023 on the mining code of Burundi, in relation to prospecting, geological and mining research, large mines, small mines and industrial quarries and that of the construction of an international luxury city in Gitega by the company DACC international.
Finally, the Cabinet analyzed the note relating to the correction of irregularities related to the application of the new salary policy and definition of new standard jobs in the Civil Service.
