BUJUMBURA, Dec. 27th (ABP) – Musumba Steel, a company that manufactures construction materials, organized on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, certificate presentation ceremonies for interns who completed professional internships for one year in the company.
The general manager of Musumba Steel, Donatien Ngendakuman, said in his speech that this company welcomes every year young people who have completed their studies in technical schools to help them continue to apply what they learned at school. He added that they welcomed 22 young interns, 19 of whom were able to complete their professional internships and 2 of them were lucky enough to get a job in that company.
On that occasion, Ngendakumana stressed that internships are very useful for young people because they allow them to acquire knowledge on what they have learned, and help them find a job in other companies or work for themselves.
To that end, he called on young Burundians, especially those who attended technical schools, to do professional internships so that they can apply what they learned at school. Ngendakumana also asked those who run technical companies to give internship opportunities to young graduates. This is one of the ways to have qualified and experienced young people in different fields, he said. He called on those young people to practice what they have learned in their daily lives in order to self-develop.
“I finished my studies in electro-mechanics, and then I applied to Musumba Steel for a professional internship. I did the internship in the production department, I did not know how to use the machine that makes iron sheets, but thanks to these internships, I now know how to make iron sheet,” said Sandrine Nahishakiye, one of the young interns who received the certificate. She invited other young people, especially girls, not to be afraid to ask for internships, but to look for professional internships in companies so that they can improve their knowledge.
