RUTANA, November 27th (ABP) – Administrative officials must prioritize the interest of the population with a view to their commitment to the vision of Burundi as an emerging country by 2040 and developed country in 2060; this is an appeal made to them on Monday, November 25, 2024 by the Minister responsible for public security Martin Niteretse, at a meeting he organized for them, at the headquarters of the extended Rutana district.

Niteretse noted that the country’s success in achieving its vision will depend on the success of the districts and families in implementing the guidelines of the country’s leaders towards the said vision. That is why he called on administrative officials to raise awareness among the population to work tirelessly, in order to have the surplus production to put on the market in case of emergency. According to him, livestock practice is also important in the same sense. He called on those administrative officials to serve as an example in their constituencies of responsibility.

Based on information according to which some grassroots administrative officials do not fulfill their task well, Niteretse invited the village and County leaders of the extended Rutana district to put the good of the population first, to offer them a quality service. According to him, this will facilitate them to continue to fully engage in activities for their development.

He finally called on them to strengthen love and mutual support, in order to move together towards the development of their villages of responsibility, which will help the whole country achieve its vision.

It is worth noting that this meeting that was chaired by the minister in charge of security is a continuation of the one he had organized for the grassroots administrative officials in the extended district of Musongati and of the whole extended Burunga province.
