BUJUMBURA, March 11th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience, on Monday, March 10, 2025, the head of the mining company FANALEK in Burundi, Jean Baptiste Ntakirutimana, who wishes to exploit the new mineral called “titanium” in Burundi.
On the sidelines of the audience, Ntakarutimana indicated that they had come to present to the head of state a new type of mineral that they discovered mainly in Cibitoke (Bukinanyana) and Rumonge. He specified that this company will continue research on the presence of those minerals. According to Ntakarutimana, the content of those minerals is 87% throughout the country, adding that their company proposes to conduct intensive exploitation and thus contribute to boosting the national economy. On that occasion, the Head of State encouraged the young Burundian entrepreneur who wants to exploit titanium and reiterated his call for Burundians to get involved themselves, not to leave the sector to foreigners.
