BUJUMBURA, November 28th (ABP) – The social assistance service under the provincial directorate of Family and Social Affairs in Bujumbura province receives a lot of people seeking assistance in food or money for treatment. It was reported on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 by Mrs. Aline Nduwimana, social worker in Mutumbuzi district, Bujumbura province.
According to her, those seeking assistance services are mostly elderly people, destitute men and women, without families to help them.
Mrs. Nduwimana said that to help them she uses the small stock of rice and clothes collected during the national day of local solidarity.
These people come from all localities. In addition to the natives of Mutimbuzi district, others come from elsewhere and are often seasonal workers in rice or maize plantations who preferred not to return home.
It is worth noting that the provincial directorate of family and social affairs in Bujumbura province is supported in this social work by Mutimbuzi district.
