People being registered for the 2025 elections in Cankuzo district

CANKUZO, October 30th (ABP) – People with advanced age and the sick have the right to register for the 2025 elections. This was revealed on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 by the chairperson of the Independent Provincial Election Commission (CEPI) of Buhumuza, Evelyne Ndayisenga, during an interview with a check by ABP.

At the CEPI level in Buhumuza, it is known that the grassroots administrative officials must confirm that they recognize them since they are not available at the registration locations.

As for other people who are far away, Ndayisenga said that their proxies must be presented to decide whether they are regular or not.

Regarding the number of people already registered, the new district of Cankuzo, composed of the former districts of Cankuzo and Kigamba, occupies 6th place in Buhumuza province in terms of voter registration. In a press release made public on Sunday, October 27, 2024, the administrator of that district, Chantal Irakoze, noted that the voter registration rate is 78.63%.

It’s worth noting that the new district of Muyinga occupied, on Monday, October 28, 2024, the 1st place in terms of voter registration in Buhumuza province, with a rate of 88.76%, the CEPI Buhumuza revealed.
