RUTANA, October 3rd (ABP) – The project of expanding a garage including a department for teaching mechanics to young people and that of expanding a bakery business have been selected to benefit from funding from the Youth Economic Empowerment and Employment Programme (PAEEJ), in Rutana District.

The selection took place on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, during a competition for innovative projects that aimed to select the best projects to be funded, which was organized in all the districts of the country by the said programme.

The first two projects that emerged as winners were also authorized to compete at the provincial level. The provincial competition is scheduled for October 4 of this year, and the aim is to increase their chance of being able to benefit from other funding, once selected.

The PAEEJ facilitator in Rutana district, Mr. Samuel Nsavyumukiza congratulated the winners, but also invited the young people whose projects were not selected to improve them in order to win subsequent competitions.

Since the PAEEJ has several categories for funding youth projects, he invited them to fill out forms in order to seek funding in other categories available under the programme.

It is worthy to note that nine projects in the fields of agriculture, the environment and tourism as well as agri-food processing were presented in competition in the Rutana district.
