BUJUMBURA, October 17th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, on Monday, 14 October 2024, in the Maramvya zone, Mutimbuzi commune, inaugurated a factory for the manufacture of cardboard packaging, labels and plastic blowtorches, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The factory, built at a cost of 30 billion Fbu, is being built to meet a need for packaging and blowtorches, following the establishment of the Imena Soma Usubire Company in Kayanza, which manufactures beer.

Anicet Ndoricimpa added that the plant would also enable local and foreign users to obtain supplies of cardboard for packaging in Burundi, before pointing out that the residues would be recycled in the future.

The President appreciated the businessman’s degree of vision, pointing out that he built the plant after helping the people of Kayanza by giving them a market for their bananas.
