NGOZI, September 23rd (ABP) – Ngozi province has been hosting the African International Rally Competition since Friday, September 21, 2024.
The activities for the launch of that competition were honored with the presence of Burundi Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye, in Vyerwa. According to the chairperson of the organizing committee Odon Negamiye, this is a second edition of that competition after last year’s which took place in the same province.
Three out of seven countries participated in that competition, namely Burundi, Uganda and Kenya. Among the 13 teams participating in the rally, 11 are Burundian teams.
Odon Negamiye specified that this competition is a source of pride for Burundi. For the safety of the public, only one access point at Shango viewpoint is open to the public during the entire rally. The other rally roads close two hours before the first rally car passes and movement is prohibited. Closing activities were scheduled for Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Vyerwa viewpoint.
Note that the rally is a great business opportunity. Hotels, restaurants, bars and other businesses find a sigh of relief, as the public was extremely numerous on the three days of activities.
