CANKUZO, January 14th (ABP) – Members of the provincial platform for food security and nutrition in Cankuzo province (PPSAN) organized on Thursday, January 9, 2025, a visit to three corn fields belonging to associations supported by the Nkuriza project, a check by ABP revealed.
The trip was organized with the aim of inquiring about the state of play of the achievements of the Nkuriza project which is committed to promoting maternal and child health. As a reminder, the associations visited are made up of members, some of whom have malnourished children.
The governor’s chief of staff, Mr. Pierre Claver Nakumuryango, positively appreciated the achievements of the project on the ground in the fight against diseases linked to malnutrition which, according to him, lead to the handicap of any malnourished child both in growth and in intelligence.
According to him, the fields visited were well maintained and green, which brings hope that malnutrition will be fought in families. He took the opportunity to call for the good management of their harvest.
The governor’s chief of staff called on the members of the communal platforms for food security and nutrition to be very close to the population, calling on the latter to follow the advice given by increasing production and feeding children with a balanced diet.
