BEIJING, September 23rd (AMSP/CGTN) – – The BRICS Urban Future Forum in Moscow, held on September 18-19, drew more than 13,000 participants from over 30 countries. The forum featured a range of prominent speakers discussing the importance of sharing best practices in sustainable urban development.
With projections indicating that half of the world’s megacities will soon be in BRICS nations, the forum emphasized the importance of sharing best practices in sustainable urban development.

“For me, it was very interesting to see there are stakeholders of BRICS countries and to listen phrase by phrase to such a big community talking about global safety, sustainability, cyber security, green technology, and communication,” one of the attendees said.

“I was invited to join the conference as a representative from China, from Shenzhen. I’m the chairman of the Thailand international talent group, my topic is how entrepreneurship innovation can thrive in big cities,” another attendee pointed out, underscoring that with this world being divided more and more, we need to work together to bridge it, and specifically, talent will play a very critical role.

The forum reinforced a collective commitment among BRICS nations to address urban challenges, fostering a vision for a more sustainable future amid ongoing global uncertainties.

“We can use these kinds of funds to start some of the projects because they are bringing some of the others, some technological partners from other countries,” Chief Information Officer (CIO) Erol Ozguner from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Türkiye, said.
