RUYIGI, January 16th (ABP) – Young people gathered within the association of electro mechanics for the development of the Gisuru district, ask for support from the authorities and the population, to support them in modernizing and developing their community radio Ishaka FM of Gisuru.
The radio created by the young Edmond Mudendero, a member of the association, is of paramount importance for this natural region of Kumoso. These young people say that they want to contribute to the vision of 2040-2060 through the strengthening of the services of the radio.
ISHAKA FM radio is located at the headquarters of the Gisuru district, in the western part of the premises of the modern market of that district, Murehe County. It broadcasts at 105 MHZ within a radius of 36 km in the provinces of Ruyigi, Cankuzo and Rutana in their parts of the natural region of Kumoso, according to its initiator.
The idea for its creation got into his mind after noting the lack of media that could be received in those remote areas of the district. He was delighted that the population can now issue press releases, wanted notices and gets to know the national news thanks to the community radio.
The leader of the association of young people working at the radio station, for his part, gave a living underscored that this radio is of added value to the daily life of the local population.
The radio was assembled from electronic parts collected from all over. To that end, the members of the association call on everyone to give them support to make it modern and sustainable.
