Young entrepreneurs called upon to initiate innovative projects

BURURI, October 3rd (ABP) – During the competition that took place on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in all the districts of the Bururi province (South), young competitors were called upon to set up innovative projects that could be financed by the Youth Economic Empowerment and Employment Programme (PAEEJ).

A total of 32 projects were in competition to choose only 12 best projects that will be in provincial competition next on Friday, September 4th, PAEEJ provincial branch head Albert Niyukuri said. The projects that were selected in Bururi district include the transformation of meat into meatballs and sausages as well as the sewing workshop. In Matana district, the two projects such as the Carpentry Company, and Production and Marketing of Porridge Flour were selected. In Mugamba, the projects selected are the processing of mushroom seeds and the cultivation of mushrooms. In Rutovu, the projects selected are modern basketry and the public secretariat and modern studio. In Songa district, the projects selected are the carpentry workshop and the audiovisual, while in Vyanda district, the modern sewing workshop and the audiovisual were selected.

Each district will align the first two innovative projects for the competition organized at the provincial level.

During the provincial competition, three best innovative projects will be selected and financed respectively to the tune of 15 million, 13 million and 12 million.
