The inhabitants of the town of Rumonge are invited to promote cleanliness in their households

RUMONGE, August 30th (ABP) – On Saturday 24 August, the Second Vice-President of the Burundian Senate, Mr Fabrice Nkurunziza, joined the inhabitants of the urban center of Rumonge in the work of cleaning the main gutter of Mugerangabo.

Addressing the participants, he thanked them for taking part in the work, encouraging them to promote cleanliness in their households and above all to avoid dumping rubbish anywhere.

He also invited people to respect hygiene measures in order to prevent the spread of monkeypox, which is a reality even in Rumonge province.

Mr. Nkurunziza did not forget to point out that the current census is very important for the implementation of the State’s vision of Burundi emerging in 2040 and developed in 2060. He called on people to provide reliable information to guide this vision.

In his welcome address, Léonard Niyonsaba, Governor of Rumonge Province, announced that Rumonge would be hosting the 11th summit of French-speaking towns in the EAC, and stressed the need for a change in mentality to ensure that Rumonge is a clean town. He also called on people of that province to prepare for the A cropping season, pointing out that those involved in that sector are ready to make available what is needed to support farmers.
