Beijing (TDI), December 16th (AMSP/CGTN) – – President Xi Jinping received the credentials of twenty-eight new ambassadors to China in Beijing on Thursday.
André Haspels from the Netherlands, Sashko Nasev from North Macedonia, Soeung Rathchavy from Cambodia, Chatchai Viriyavejakul from Thailand, Abdelkader El Ansari from Morocco, Marcelo Gabriel Suarez Salvia from Argentina and Frances Lanitou from Cyprus presented their credentials to Xi.
The list also included Paata Kalandadze from Georgia, Fazeel Najeeb from the Maldives, Nicholas O’Brien from Ireland, Marta Betanzos Roig from Spain, Michael S. Christensen from Denmark, Elisee Jean Dao from Mali, Majintha Jayesinghe from Sri Lanka and Chitra Jeremiah from Nauru.
Abigail Shoniwa from Zimbabwe, Md. Nazmul Islam from Bangladesh, Kārlis Eihenbaums from Latvia, Vebjørn Dysvik from Norway, Luis Lopez from El Salvador, Nyamaa Enkhbold from Mongolia, Branko M. Bulatović from Montenegro, Krishna Prasad Oli from Nepal, Saleh Chahaimi Abakar from Chad, Bostjan Malovrh from Slovenia, Hodan Osman Abdi from Somalia, Mikko Kinnunen from Finland and Remigio Ceballos from Venezuela also presented their documents.
Welcoming the ambassadors to their posts, President Xi asked them to convey his best wishes to the leaders and people of their respective nations, stating that the Chinese government will provide support for the envoys to perform their duties.
He said that China has a long history and a vast territory. Xi expressed hope that new envoys will visit many places and listen to the Chinese people to understand history, present and future of China.
He urged the envoys to build bridges for exchange, generate momentum to cooperation, and carry forward friendship between China and their home nations and beyond.
He said that China is ready to share its development opportunities with other nations and promote the modernization of all countries that features peaceful development, common prosperity and mutually beneficial cooperation.
As the world faces major challenges and crises, such as rising geopolitical conflicts, protectionism and unilateral actions, and climate change, it is necessary that all countries take concerted action, he said.
