MURAMVYA, October 10th (ABP) – The Governor of Muramvya province, Euphrèm Ndikumasabo, who joined the population of Ruvumu hill in Kiganda commune on Saturday in the work of tracing contour lines, called on farmers to start planting maize, as the government has already made selected maize seed available.
Governor Euphrèm Ndikumasabo pleaded for other remaining and necessary seeds to be made available. He asked administrative, agricultural and security officials to do their utmost to ensure that farmers receive maize seed at the price set by the government, which is 4,200 BIF per kilogram.
At a time when the rainy season has already begun, Governor Ndikumasabo said that it was time to get out the hoe to sow, in order to make progress towards a very good harvest. To get that harvest, ‘we must follow all the instructions given by the agricultural technicians,’ stressed the Governor of Muramvya province.
He took the opportunity to implore the goodness of God to bless the atmosphere and give moderate rains, with a view to a good harvest compared to previous seasons.
