BUJUMBURA, January 22nd (ABP) – The Minister of Civil Service, Labor and Employment, Vénuste Muyabaga, hosted a press briefing on Monday, January 20, 2025, after holding a meeting with the staff of the directorate of career management of civil servants of the said ministry.
According to Minister Muyabaga, the meeting was mainly aimed at the proper management of a civil servant’s career. In addition, they organized the meeting following the trip made to all the provinces during the government holidays. During the trip made to the interior of the country, they noted that there are, there too, major concerns that have been addressed to the said ministry.
Following the lamentations of users benefiting from the services of the civil servants’ career management directorate, Minister Muyabaga declared zero tolerance towards anyone caught not carrying out their tasks to serve users well.
The minister finally informed the service providers and beneficiaries of the career management directorate that henceforth no file will exceed 5 days without a response or without being processed, adding that sanctions will be taken against those who do not respect the standard.
On that occasion, he also called on them to work hard for the well-being of the population.
During the meeting with the staff, they raised certain issues facing the ministry, namely the lack of sufficient staff and insufficient equipment. On this, Minister Muyabaga specified that they have, in the immediate future, reassigned the necessary staff and will do everything possible to ensure that the equipment is available so that the service can be fully functional.
