MWARO, September 20th (ABP) – On Wednesday, 18 September 2024, school kits worth over 3 million, consisting of exercise books, pens and mats, were given to vulnerable pupils at Matyazo primary school in the Nyabihanga district.
The school equipment was distributed to pupils from the first to the ninth year of primary school by a group of volunteers called ‘Nawe Buragukeneye’.
The group’s founder, Guillaine Ndayishimiye, a native of the Matyazo village, said that their aim was to support the government’s vision of ‘Burundi emerging in 2040, developed in 2060’, because this vision could not be achieved without quality education.
She asked parents to ensure that their pupils make good use of the school equipment.
The headmaster of the Matyazo primary school, Jean Ernest Nduwimana, and the chairman of the parents’ council welcomed the act of charity by the “Nawe Buragukeneye” group.
