BEIJING, February 6th (AMSP/CGTN) – – China’s National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji met with visiting Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Beijing on Wednesday, expressing China’s readiness to promote continuous development of bilateral relations with Kyrgyzstan.
At the meeting, Zhao said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Japarov, the China-Kyrgyzstan relationship is now at its best in history, with significant cooperative outcomes achieved across in various fields.
The talks between the two heads of state earlier Wednesday drew a new blueprint for the development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations, he said.
China stands ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to build a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future of good neighborliness and shared prosperity, Zhao noted, adding that the NPC is willing to enhance friendly exchanges with the Kyrgyz Parliament to provide a legal guarantee for practical cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking on the same occasion, Japarov spoke highly of the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative put forth by President Xi.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan stands ready to work with China to support each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests, focus on high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, deepen cooperation across the board and strengthen exchange between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
Later on Wednesday, Japarov laid a wreath at the Monument to the People’s Heroes on the Tian’anmen Square in Beijing.
