CIBITOKE, February 7th (ABP) – The governor of Cibitoke province, Carême Bizoza, made a working visit last week to Bwayi hill, in the commune of Mugina, to calm the population and warn people who are spreading leaflets calling for the murder of certain people by accusing them of witchcraft.

In his speech, the Governor of Cibitoke pointed out that we cannot claim to be achieving development, or to be in line with the national vision of Burundi 2040-2060, with a population that is still wasting time on that kind of unfounded accusation.

Governor Bizoza stressed that those who sow hatred and divisions among peaceful citizens must stop without delay. For him, only God Almighty gives life, and there is no question of ill-intentioned people trapping those around them to take the lives of people with whom they have differences.

He warned the latter that if anyone lost their life as a result of their hate messages, investigations would begin at home to ensure justice for the victims.

As for the administration at grassroots level, the governor urged it to properly supervise its people.

On the subject of cleanliness, local administrative staff were called on to raise awareness of hygiene measures to prevent the spread of epidemics linked to dirty hands.

The Bwayi village leader welcomed the advice given to his staff by the provincial governor. He took the opportunity to plead for the resumption of activities to rehabilitate the road linking his hill to the zonal and communal offices, which had been interrupted for two months due to a lack of fuel for the machines that were already at work.
