KAYANZA, October 25th (ABP) – The chief of staff in the office of the governor of Kayanza (north) warns anyone who indulges in abusing their fellow citizens based on their social status or political affiliation. He indicates that once caught, the person will be punished because, he said, none is allowed to inflict inhuman treatment regardless of their status.
Ndikumana said this on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 during a meeting with people from some villages of Mubogora County in Muhanga district, where people mistreated on the basis of allegations of witchcraft are being talked about. During the meeting with the people from Nyamitanga, Bushoka, Nyarurambi and Gitamo villages of the Mubogora County in Muhanga district, the issue of violence against people accused of witchcraft and certain members of political parties who mistreat their fellow citizens was subject to the debate.
Speaking about this situation, the chief of staff in the office of the governor of Kayanza did not mince his words. He specified that no one is allowed to inflict inhuman or degrading treatment on their neighbor, regardless of their status. “Anyone who does so will be tracked down, caught and brought to justice to face the music,” he added.
To that end, Ndikumana called on village leaders to work closely with political party leaders at the village level and to combine efforts in supervising members of political parties.
The joint security committees were recommended to play their role and ensure the peace of all.
In their speeches, the meeting participants expressed their gratitude while stressing that those accused by the population of assaulting their fellow citizens are already in the hands of justice.
