BUBANZA, September 30th (ABP) – 2555 new members of the ruling party CNDD-FDD, in the expanded Mpanda District (North-West of Burundi), were solemnly welcomed on Saturday, September 28, 2024. The ceremonies were honored with the presence of the secretary general of this party, Reverien Ndikuriyo, a check by ABP revealed.
According to the Mpanda district secretary of that party, Oscar Sindayigaya, among those new members 1500 are from the Musenyi County and most of them are from Nyamabere village, where the CNDD-FDD party had 43% in the 2020 elections. Those members came from other political parties like the CNL, Sahwanya FRODEBU, UPRONA and others, he added. One of the new members, from the CNL, said that he chose the CNDD-FDD programme in order to contribute to the preparation of the upcoming elections and the achievement of the vision of Burundi as an emerging country by 2040 and a developed country in 2060. In his speech, the provincial secretary of that party in the expanded Bujumbura province, Alexandre Ngoragoze, invited the party authorities to continue recruitment so that Mpanda district wins 95% of the votes in the 2025 elections.
As for the Secretary General (SG) of the CNDD-FDD party, Reverien Ndikuriyo, he called on the Bagumyabanga of Mpanda district to serve as a good reference, in all, in the neighborhood. He asks them for good coexistence with members of other political parties, while explaining to them the CNDD-FDD programme, in order to promote new memberships. Ndikuriyo also calls on them to devote themselves to the development of their households and of the country while thinking about agro-food processing. The other call was the preservation of peace and security, respect for authorities and discipline, family planning, and the schooling of children.
Note that the new district of Mpanda is made up of the former districts of Rugazi, Mpanda and Gihanga, and is composed of 9 counties and 47 villages.
