RUYIGI, October 24th (ABP) – The Bagumyabanga of the new province of Buhumuza are called on to abandon fraud and corruption of all kinds and to serve as good examples to the rest of the population, in this period preceding the elections scheduled 2025.
This call comes from the secretary of that party in Buhumuza, Gérard Barutwanayo, at the time when the party was holding a meeting to evaluate its achievements during the past quarter and future prospects.
Barutwanayo indicated that several activities were carried out in different sectors, including among others, the trips made to districts, and the counties of this new administrative entity of Buhumuza to strengthen the cohesion and unity amongst the members of the said party. He further indicated that a document comprising the main axes and articulations of the development of that new province is being drafted and that it will be detailed during future sessions to understand the details and the contribution of each for inclusive and sustainable development.
Barutwanayo also indicated that there are challenges they face for the development of the province, and which stand as obstacles that can delay or simply slow down the development of the party in particular, and of the country in general. Among other challenges, he cited fraud and corruption which, according to him, are especially talked about in border districts such as Gisuru, Mishisha Gisagara and Giteranyi.
That authority of the ruling party warns that the party has the duty to restore order and discipline, and ensure that the interest of the nation and the citizen are respected despite the sectarian interests of certain individuals. The Minister of Justice, who also participated in the meeting, calls on the Bagumyabanga and especially those who have been entrusted with decision-making positions, to more responsibilities of discipline and respect towards the people.
To that end, Barutwanayo deplores the behavior of some Bagumyabanga who commit acts of theft, fraud, and other vices resulting being brought to justice, and thus tarnishing the image of the ruling party. She thus calls on everyone to avoid giving the party a bad image as the 2025 elections are drawing near.
The second deputy speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Sabine Ntakarutimana, focused her message on what she calls “electoral fever” which, according to her, consists of a kind of fear of the future among certain current authorities regarding the positions they will be able to occupy with the 2025 elections, each trying to seek lobbying and going so far as to utter lies about their political comrades to try to oust them.
In this regard, Dr. Ntakarutimana calls on them to reconnect with patriotism because the CNDD-FDD is not the property of someone or a group of individuals.
