NAIROBI, February 28th (AMSP/CGTN) – – Moving to China-Africa cooperation, Kenya’s prime cabinet secretary and foreign affairs Minister Musalia Mudavadi, says he is hopeful that China will continue prioritizing and supporting the African continent. He highlighted matters regarding trade and Africa’s global agenda.
“Several countries are engaging with China especially when you look at the belt and road initiative; it’s something that is so important and real to Africa because we’re talking of the Africa Continental free trade area and trade must work with enhanced connectivity. So if you’re talking of road network, rail network, technology inter-connectivity, the fiber optics and so forth, then this becomes a very critical agenda for Africa and I hope in their deliberations they will position themselves to be able to support the African continent even more in these particular initiatives. When it comes to matters of politics, we look forward to China supporting what Africa has always wanted: increased enhancement under the United Nations security council (UNSC),” Musalia Mudavadi said.
Regarding the permanent seats in the UNSC, he underscored that China’s voice is very strong, hoping that they can amplify it even more to support Africa.
