The President of the Republic addresses leaders

NGOZI, January 30th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, on the bangs of the prayer organized by the CNDD-FDD party at the Kugasaka stadium in Ngozi, gave teachings that Friday, January 24, 2025 to party executives and leaders and to young people. He drew on verses from the book of Ezekiel, chapter 34, starting with the first verse.

President Ndayishimiye insisted on the role of a leader who must know how to guide his followers towards a better situation. A good leader is a shepherd who does not use force, repression or dictatorship to lead his followers. He must guide and know how to show citizens the right path to follow. For President Ndayishimiye, a leader who solicits corruption exhausts citizens. A leader who does injustice to the weak, poor and deprived brings a curse on the country and on himself.

He asked Burundi’s leaders to detach themselves from the spirit of evil and be filled with the Holy Spirit, so that the Almighty may guide them in their daily tasks, which are so important for the country. The Head of State also offered advice to citizens. For him, there are citizens who do harm to others because they have acquaintances in high places. There are others who expropriate the property of others, such as buildings, land and so on, arguing that the expropriated will have no justice anywhere in the country. He urged Burundi’s citizens to embrace the holy spirit, to change and adopt behaviours that are in line with the country’s development and his vision of Burundi emerging in 2040 and developed in 2060.

In the afternoon of the same Friday, the thanksgiving prayer organized by the ruling party continued for its second day.

Sheh Ramadhan Ndikumana preached on the theme of Burundi becoming a land of prophets, messengers and counsellors of God.

According to Sheih Ramadhan Ndikumana, the country must have God’s advisors and messengers to help the country and its leaders.

View of the participants

All ministerial departments must listen to those advisors, for they are God’s envoys who must show what is good for the country and its citizens, and prevent bad things from happening. According to that prelate, the country must develop, but to achieve that Burundians, and above all the leaders, must be inspired by divine law and respect its commandments not only in words but in action. Sheih Ramadhan Ndikumana made it clear that corruption and other economic malpractices must be combated, as they are the source of curses for the country.

In his advice to participants, the President of the Republic returned to the subject of Burundians who are still pessimistic about God’s intervention in the smooth running of the country’s affairs.

For Burundi’s number one, no one can deny that Burundi today enjoys peace and security throughout the country. Burundi can congratulate itself on having been equipped with national defense forces that reassure all social strata of the country. He therefore asked Burundians to be grateful and not to be like the Israelites at the time of the exodus, when they regretted their life in Egypt while living as slaves. For the Head of State, it is therefore understandable that there are people who live as traumatized people in a country that has lived through so many years of war, and who see everything in black. The Head of State feels that times have changed for Burundi since 2005, and God continues to bless it to such an extent that today it is a respected country, even internationally.

That thanksgiving prayer, organized since Thursday at the Kugasaka stadium in Ngozi, came to a close on Saturday January 25, 2025. Cyriaque Nshimirimana, Deputy Secretary General of the ruling party, expressed his satisfaction that God had given priority to those prayers. In particular, he thanked the Head of State for his role as the main facilitator of those prayers. According to that official, those prayers constitute a new basis for the party’s future activities, and above all for the national vision. He called on the Bagumyabanga people to unite around the Head of State’s slogan “All together, we can”.

In his closing speech, the Head of State, Evariste Ndayishimiye, pointed out that Satan had laid traps at the very start of the prayers on Thursday, attacking the very health of party secretary general Révérien Ndikuriyo. But God intervened and the three days of prayer went smoothly, he added. He asked the Bagumyabanga to go and share the messages they had received, and to be good messengers for the accomplishment of divine work in Burundi. Those prayers mark a new year for the country, and the long-awaited vision for Burundi. That final day was marked by the preaching of Apostle Mbayahaga, as well as prayers by the President of the Republic, accompanied by the President of the Senate, Emmanuel Sinzohagera.

The three days of prayer were organized by the CNDD-FDD party in the new constituency of the extended Butanyerera province, which incorporates the former provinces of Ngozi, Kayanza and Kirundo.
