MWARO, April 2nd (ABP) – Members of the ruling CNDD-FDD party in the commune of Mwaro handed over a modern house to Niyongabo Pierre, a veteran of the Muyebe village and zone. The ceremony took place on Sunday 30 March 2025, in the presence of the first vice-president of the Burundian Senate, the secretary of the ruling party in the extended province of Gitega and some of the senators and deputies elected in the provinces of Karusi and Mwaro.

The Deputy Senate President, Denise Ndadaye, gave advice to participants in general and party members in particular. She urged parents to give serious attention to their children, who drop out of school in search of work to earn money, stressing that the country needs intelligent people in all fields. She concluded by calling on teachers to work hard to instil patriotism in their pupils.

Speaking at the ceremony, the secretary of the CNDD-FDD party in the extended province of Gitega, Géorges Nshimirimana, praised the action taken by members of the party against the Muyebe veteran. He congratulated the members of the party for their efforts and bravery. In terms of support for ex-combatants, in the nine communes that make up the enlarged province of Gitega, the commune of Nyabihanga comes first, followed by that of Mwaro. It was an opportunity for him to raise awareness of social cohesion among CNDD-FDD members and other non-members of the party.

The handover of that modern house was accompanied by an offer of food and non-food items to the CNDD-FDD veteran. The ceremonies ended with the sharing of a drink.
