MAKAMBA, January 17th (ABP) – The communal agronomist of Makamba, Charles Nahimana, asks the grassroots administrative officials to sensitize the population to proceed with mechanical and chemical control to fight against the snails that have appeared in the fields of the Makamba district, a check by ABP learned on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 during an extended security meeting organized by the governor of Makamba, for the members of the joint security committees of the said district.

If these snails appear, Nahimana indicated, the farmer must weed the surroundings of their fields; organize a campaign to collect those snails and after the collection, salt is put on them. So, to kill the larvae, the farmer will spray an insecticide called ‘Methaldehyde’ or another equivalent insecticide.
