BUJUMBURA, February 11th (ABP) – The Chairman of the Independent National Election Commission (CENI), Prosper Ntahorwamiye, chaired, on Monday, February 10, 2025 in Bujumbura, a meeting with the political parties, coalitions, and independents selected by the CENI for the 2025 elections.

Ntahorwamiye specified that the meeting aimed to discuss the models of ballot papers and F2 forms for the elections of deputies and communal councils in 2025. The meeting was themed: “Presentation of the models of ballot papers for the elections of deputies and communal councils, as well as the minutes of the establishment of the results at the polling stations (form F2”.

The models of the ballot papers were validated, although some observations were raised regarding the clarity of the images. The CENI Chair underscored that these were educational materials. Before the final production of the ballot papers that will be used during the elections, he specified that a proof would be signed, but the latter could not be validated if the images were not sufficiently legible. The same applies to the minutes of the establishment of the results, he added.

Concerning the issue of accreditation of political party representatives, the CENI leader explained that this accreditation is carried out according to the activities. He also mentioned that the posting of provisional election lists is underway.

At each activity, candidates can accredit their political representatives. However, according to Ntahorwamiye, the accreditation of observers for the posting of provisional lists ended last week. He insisted on the fact that more preparation must now be made for the activities of distributing voter cards as well as for the election days.
