CANKUZO, October 24th (ABP) – The administration and political parties of the Cankuzo province are called upon to combine efforts to fight against the fraud that persists in that province.
This call was made to them by the governor of the province, Boniface Banyiyezako, during the security meeting he held in Gisagara district for district administrators, heads of decentralized services and leaders of political parties on Monday, October 21, 2024.
According to him, despite the various awareness sessions aimed at fighting all forms of fraud, it was demonstrated during the meeting that some people are ignorant.
The example is that of the Kigamba district where two people are in the hands of the police; one is accused of having clandestinely transported fertilizers to Tanzania and the other fuel, according to the administrator of that district, Mrs. Anitha Nibogora.
The governor of the province deplored such behavior, calling it disruptive to the country’s economy.
He therefore recommended immediate trials against those fraudsters. He also took the opportunity to announce zero tolerance for price speculation on BRARUDI products. Bars that are accused of price increases must be permanently closed with a fine of one million BIF and a three-year imprisonment.
