BUJUMBURA, June 4 (ABP) – Burundi Prime Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca held a meeting on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Bujumbura to validate the report of an action plan on peace capitalization, intended for certain members of the government and its partners, namely the World Bank and the United Nations System.
According to the head of press and communication office at the Prime Minister’s office Festin Ntiyumvamabwire, this meeting was part of the framework for peace capitalization, prevention, and resilience against conflicts.
The World Bank and the United Nations System took part in the validation of this program to support the country’s efforts, he said, specifying that the program was approved for a three-year period starting in 2023 and ending in 2026.
On this occasion, it was noted that the score of activities already carried out had reached 71%, a satisfactory one, and remaining percentages relate to activities that are currently underway.
Mr. Ntiyumvamabwire also noted that the program primarily focuses on employability, education, access to justice, humanitarian security, strengthening inclusivity, and participatory politics. All of this, he said, has been accomplished in line with Burundi’s vision of becoming an emerging country by 2040 and a developed one by 2060.
