BUJUMBURA, March 14th (ABP) – BE-CHAP Company (Burundi Entertainment Creative Helper And Proactive Television), operating in the audiovisual sector, is making a significant contribution to youth empowerment and the fight against unemployment, said the company’s director and legal representative, Chadrack Ndatimana, during an interview with a check by ABP on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

According to him, the company was founded in 2021 by a group of 10 students from the first class of journalism and communication students at the University of Burundi, with the aim of responding to the State’s call to create jobs in order to combat unemployment. He also revealed that they were motivated by the training they received from PAEEJ, which sensitizes students to start businesses based on the knowledge they acquired in class.

Mr. Ndatimana explained that the company’s activities are organized into two categories: the production and publication of audiovisual content (reports, live broadcasts, shows, etc.). On the studio side, they practice photography, as well as the recording and processing of audiovisual content and its publication on social media. He emphasized that it is through the last category that the company earns the most money to finance its projects. He noted that such companies also earn money from the monetization of their YouTube channels, but that theirs has not yet reached that level.

The company also provides training in audiovisual, community (social media) management, and design through internships, with the aim of addressing the challenge of the shortage of professionals in the field, which is often observed in Burundi. He stated that the company’s members are delighted with the step taken. According to him, more than 80% of the team members cover their needs thanks to the company’s profits, which come mainly from audiovisual activities. Furthermore, a significant amount of equipment has already been purchased with the profits received.

Mr. Ndatimana urges young people to create jobs for themselves and not to expect to earn money easily. According to him, young people have ideas and the strength to work and succeed in life, but they are not ready to use this potential. He also added that some are afraid of suffering losses, but that they should embark on projects and persevere without waiting for support from anyone.
