BUJUMBURA, November 15th (ABP) – 24 senior executives from the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research who attended a training course on optimal governance of the Burundian education system from October 16 to 19, 2024, as well as the international certification linux professional institute, level 1 from October 17 to 24, 2024, have received a certificate of participation, said Monday, November 11, 2024, the country representative of the Francophonie University Agency of in Burundi (AUF), Fulgence Nahayo.
The ceremony was organized by the AUF in partnership with the National School of Administration (ENA), with the aim of developing skills in the administration of computer systems and networks under Linux.
In his speech, Nahayo began by recalling that the AUF has been supporting the government of Burundi in implementing the national policy for the development of information and communication technologies since 1998.
That policy, he stressed, aims to achieve universal access to information and communication technologies in order to accelerate economic growth and become a center of excellence and a regional reference pole in the information and communication technologies sector by 2025.
He added that the AUF also plays a crucial role in supporting the Burundian government in its policy of improving the quality of the education system, and contributes its expertise in a number of areas: support for higher education, teacher training, support for educational reforms and the development of research.
ENA’s General Manager, Jean de Dieu Ndikumana, said that the training courses had been an ideal opportunity for their IT professionals to discover the latest innovations, exchange best practices and develop new digital skills.
To that end, he invited all those who had taken part in the information sessions to integrate the lessons learned in the search for innovative solutions to improve public service delivery, meet the challenges and ensure that no citizen is left behind in that era of digital progress.
