RUMONGE, December 16th (ABP) – 357 loincloths and 50kg of Indian hemp were seized during the night of December 11 to 12, 2024, by the navy soldiers of the Rumonge station.

Information from the communal administration in Rumonge indicates that two men alleged perpetrators have been apprehended.

All natives of the urban village of Nkayamba in the city of Rumonge were arrested when they were on board a ship from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The legal advisor to the administrator of Rumonge district, Audace Mukeshimana, calls on the population of that district to be vigilant in order to fight against fraudulent trade and to get rid of it because, he pointed out, fraud undermines the economy of the country and that of families since the perpetrators are punished by law, once apprehended. It is worthy to note that the two alleged perpetrators were handed over to the police for investigation purposes.
