NTAHANGWA, Dec 26 (ABP) – Zara Company shared Christmas joy with vulnerable people on Thursday, December 25, 2025, aiming to provide them with moral and material support through a project called “Nanje Nitabweho.”
According to the company’s chairperson, Mrs. Ancille Bella Ndayishimiye, this initiative aimed to bring smiles back to widows and impoverished people so they could celebrate Christmas like everyone else. She explained that the selection of beneficiaries was not based on any specific criteria, but rather on observing situations of extreme vulnerability, particularly widows without means of subsistence and people living on the streets.
Mrs. Ndayishimiye indicated that during her conversations with the beneficiaries, she observed that they had faced numerous hardships in their lives. She emphasized that this act of solidarity did not encounter any major obstacles, except for a lack of financial resources at certain times.
However, thanks to the commitment and determination of her team, the initiative was able to succeed. On that occasion, she acknowledged the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the National Social Security Institute (INSS).
She also affirmed that nothing would discourage her from this endeavour, recalling that she herself had experienced a similar situation after losing her parents at a younger age.
Furthermore, the chairperson of Zara Company announced that the “Nanje Nitabweho” project is now in its second year. The first year supported 58 street children in November 2025, while the second has benefited more than 150 vulnerable individuals. She added that her organization prioritizes a community-based approach to better understand the beneficiaries’ actual living conditions. Mrs. Ndayishimiye clarified that this assistance is not limited to the holiday season. She indicated that the third year of the project is planned for April 2026.
Among the beneficiaries, Mrs. Chantal Nizigiyimana, a resident of Maramvya, expressed her joy at being able to celebrate Christmas thanks to this initiative, while also calling on other organizations and individuals of goodwill to support vulnerable people.
For her part, Mrs. Nibizi Françoise, a widow residing in Gatumba and mother of four, expressed her satisfaction at having shared Christmas with other beneficiaries thanks to the support of Zara Company, making an appeal for solidarity and love for one’s neighbour.
It is worth noting that the beneficiaries received essential kits, including buckets, fabric, clothing, and shoes.
