BUBANZA, April 18th (ABP) – Some objects, considered as waste, have become raw materials for young entrepreneur Emmanuel Hakizimana, from Buhororo 1 village, in the Bubanza commune (North-Western Burundi), a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
Contacted by ABP, the young Hakizimana stated that he has been the owner of a company called “Bubanza Business Company” since 2021, after obtaining a Master’s degree in community development. He started manufacturing mills, rice dehulling machines, maize threshing machines, and sunflower oil press machines, using iron objects considered waste, parts of unusable vehicles, and others. This company also produces briquettes made from wood shavings and rice. Other products include cups, forks, spoons, and other kitchen utensils made from wood.
The young man Hakizimana mentioned that he started with a capital of 10 million BIF in 2021, and currently his capital exceeds 50 million BIF. His company has already created 10 permanent jobs and 10 temporary jobs. His products are even sold abroad, he added.
With the income he has received, this young entrepreneur was able to purchase a plot of land and build a family home. He has already bought another plot where he plans to set up this unit. Mr. Hakizimana has a project to produce electricity from certain waste materials and used motors, but he notes that he is facing a financial constraint in implementing this project.
This young entrepreneur calls on his peers to raise their awareness, while recognizing that they constitute an active people that Burundi needs for its development and the achievement of Vision 2040-2060. He encourages them to be creative, as, he continues, the country is relying more and more on them.
