BURURI, Dec. 27th (ABP) – The natives of Ruzira village, Matana commune, joined the population of that village on Wednesday, December 25, 2025, to celebrate Christmas. It was an opportunity to distribute food assistance consisting of rice, beans, palm oil and salt to 40 poorer households, a check on site by ABP has revealed.

Apart from the assistance, the natives analyzed together with the population the state of play of the development projects underway in that village.

Police Brigadier General Anicet Nibaruta, leader of the village association, said that all the sub-villages of Ruzira village are now supplied with drinking water, a good thing for the local population.

However, the population deplored the reluctance of employees of the Matana commune when it comes to repairing breakdowns on time. Brigadier General Nibaruta called on the population to properly maintain the hydraulic infrastructure.

It was noted that employees of the Matana commune do not collaborate with the village committees responsible for water.

In the same village, an electrical network is installed, but the distribution of meters by REGIDESO remains. The population is called upon to draw up lists of applicants for meters.

During that exchange meeting with the village administrative officials, the population was asked to closely monitor a phenomenon of young people who move around at night, because they can develop bad behavior such as theft and crime.

The natives urged the traders from the village to strictly respect the official prices set by the State. Regarding the village mediators, the natives of the Ruzira village asked them to collaborate with the village administrative officials and to perform well in order to strengthen the peaceful cohabitation of the communities and to put an end to land and family conflicts, to reduce the number of disputes brought to courts.
