Training of female football coaches

NGAGARA, March 11 (ABP) – A five-day training program for female football coaches was officially launched on Monday, March 9, at the National Technical Center (CTN) of the Burundi Football Federation (FFB) in Ngagara, with the aim of creating a group of coaches specialized in training girls and women.

According to the Secretary General of the Burundi Football Federation (FFB), Elysé Niyubahwe, this training aims to give participants a clear vision of how they can carry out this profession while contributing to the development of the country. He noted that women and girls are still underrepresented in football teams, and most of these teams are coached by men.

The head of the training department within the Burundi Football Federation, Daniella Niyibimenya, indicated that this training will help coaches better organize and manage football competitions both nationally and internationally.

For her part, the head of the women’s football department at the Burundi Football Federation, Akimana Bélyse, explained in her speech the importance and benefits of this training for promoting women’s football.

Regarding the program, Secretary General Elysé Niyubahwe stated that it was organized to create a strong group of coaches specialized in women’s football and to contribute to the development of the discipline in Burundi. Note that thirty people are participating in this training, organized with the support of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
