Mukaza, Oct 7 (ABP) – The Vice President of the Republic of Burundi, Prosper Bazombanza, conducted a field visit to the ministry in charge of the Civil Service on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

During his tour, the Vice President visited various departments, including the career management department, the salary processing department, and the IT processing center.

Bazombanza stated that the purpose of this visit was to assess the progress of daily operations since the recent territorial delimitation.

He asked the ministry to strengthen its work in the communes so that civil servants could be served directly without having to go through the headquarters in Bujumbura.

Regarding the digitalization effort within the ministry, the Vice President thanked the ministry for the progress made on this new policy. Ninety thousand files have been digitized out of the approximately 105,000 that need to be. He expressed hope that the remaining files would be quickly digitized so that all state civil servants could be covered.

During this visit, he recommended that civil servants be treated according to the new salary policy, calling for the prompt correction of related dysfunctions. Finally, he emphasized that staff and agents in sectors with special status should be treated equitably like all others, in accordance with the new salary policy.
