MUGERE, Oct 16 (ABP) – During the second session of discussions on the missions assigned to the Prime Minister’s office, Prime Minister Nestor Ntahontuye called on the employees working at the Prime Minister’s office to redouble their efforts to avoid falling behind.

In his presentation, Minister Ntahontuye emphasized the implementation of a monitoring and evaluation system, in which ministerial departments must carry out their tasks in an operational manner so that the outcomes be transparent. He mentioned the need for capacity building to ensure coherence and accountability. He also recommended the development of operational and strategic planning documents based on this monitoring and evaluation system, whether in companies or ministries.

To fulfill the missions, developing an action plan must be a priority, he stressed, adding that to properly coordinate the Prime Minister’s office’s tasks, one must rely on accurate data. Ntahontuye stated that among the duties of employees at the Prime Minister’s office, the preparation of an annual work plan and budget (AWPB) is crucial to ensure the effective implementation of national policy.

During the discussions with Prime Minister Ntahontuye, participants raised several challenges they face, including logistical difficulties, a shortage of computers to facilitate their work, and limited transportation means.

However, they pledged to carry out their missions and to work with ease and goodwill.

In response to all the concerns raised, Ntahontuye called for an evaluation of the actions taken and for improving working conditions to achieve the 2040–2060 vision.
