BUJUMBURA, October 10th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye received in audience, on Wednesday October 9, 2024, a Japanese delegation led by the Vice-President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ando Naoki.
After the meeting, the president’s deputy spokesman Sébastien Ntahongendera told the press that they had discussed the development of cooperation between Burundi and this Japanese international cooperation agency.
According to Ntahongendera, the two authorities discussed the agency’s contribution in the sectors of agriculture, economic infrastructure, human capacity building and food security.
Ando Naoki affirmed that this cooperation will move forward in the direction of improving the living conditions of the population, especially in the food security sector, but also in strengthening the country’s security, pointed out the president’s deputy spokesman.
According to Ntahongendera, the head of delegation took this opportunity to appreciate the efforts made by the Burundian government in general to develop the country, and especially the priority given to improving mother and child health.
