BUJUMBURA, February 7th (ABP) – Young entrepreneur Cedric Iteriteka told ABP on Monday, 03 February 2025, that the opportunity to help oneself financially in the fight against unemployment is the key to progress. It was a special encouragement to young people that he gave when he welcomed ABP to his pedicure and manicure business.

The young entrepreneur provides training in pedicure and manicure, enabling people with no qualifications to acquire marketable skills. “I had many customers, especially women and girls, who were motivated by their profession”. He started working in 2022. During that period of work, Mr Cedric pointed out, the major challenge is that some people enter into competition, while demanding the cost, which is lower than what each customer has to pay. He pointed out that 15,000 fbu is enough for a pedicure and manicure.

According to Iteriteka, thanks to his profession, he has managed to turn a small amount of start-up capital into a model business as a way out of poverty. Pedicures and manicures are not just beauty services, but also drivers of economic and social development, helping to reduce poverty by creating employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, he added. They also contribute to the well-being of their customers.

“Moving from poverty to prosperity thanks to pedicures and manicures is possible, you just need to show determination” is a testimonial from Mr Iteriteka affirming that entrepreneurship has the potential to lift people out of poverty and pave the way for development opportunities.

Mrs. Aline Niyomwungere, a loyal customer she met at Cedrick Iteriteka’s place of business, testified that the competence and attractive prices charged by Cedrick Iteriteka highlighted customer satisfaction.  She also appreciated the quality of Cedrick’s pedicure and manicure services. Through his work as a pedicurist and manicurist, he has managed to transform his precarious living conditions. He encourages other young people to learn trades that generate income. He is also committed to helping apprentices acquire the skills they need to excel in that trade.
