The Ministry Responsible for ICT has Granted IT Equipment to the Ministry in charge of Finance

BUJUMBURA, March 13th (ABP) – The Ministry of Communication, Information Technology (ICT) and Media granted IT equipment to the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. This IT equipment consists of some 210 laptops and five printers, a check by ABP noted.

The Minister in charge of ICT, Léocadie Ndacayisaba, announced that this equipment was provided as part of the digitalization of public services through the Digital Economy Foundation Support Project (PAFEN), funded by the World Bank.

The Ministry responsible for Finance was the first to acquire the equipment, as the leading institution that coordinates all government spenditure and carries out activities requiring speed, Ndacayisaba explained.

She added that the equipment provided will be used for the proper functioning and management of public finances and for staff training in various sectors such as financial management, procurement, internal control and audit, and environmental and social protection. It is worth noting that this equipment is worth 845 million Burundi francs.
