BUJUMBURA, July 3rd (ABP) – In the friendly match between the Intamba mu Rugamba U23 national team and the Vietnamese team The Cong Viettel FC, played at the Intwari Stadium in Bujumbura City on Monday, June 30, 2025, the Intamba mu Rugamba U23 team won 4-0, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The opening goal was scored in the 9th minute by number 4, Uwimana Yakubu, while the second was scored by Destin Maniriho (number 10) in the 33rd minute. The third goal was scored by Christophe Ndayikengurukiye in the 45th minute +1 and the fourth goal by Patrick Mutumana (No. 17) in the 45th minute + 4 minutes of added time during the first half.
After the match, Intamba coach Jimmy Ndayizeye congratulated his players for their continued efforts until the end of the match, stating that they have a brighter future ahead of them. He believes that in a few years, four to five of them will be able to join the senior national team. Mr. Ndayizeye also urged them to train diligently.
The match ceremonies were attended by Burundian Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye, Prime Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca, CNDD-FDD Secretary General Révérien Ndikuriyo, Burundi Ombudsman Aimé Laurentine Kanyana, various members of the government, and senior officials working in various sectors of the country.
The match was organized to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of Burundi’s independence.
