MUKAZA, April 20 (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishim iye, and current chairperson of the African Union, after taking part in the inauguration ceremonies of his counterpart from the Republic of the Congo, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, which took place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, traveled on Friday, April 17, 2026, to Turkey where he was to participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum (ADF2026), that was scheduled from April 17 to 19, 2026.
According to a press release from the office in charge of information, communication and the spokesperson of the President of the Republic, the said international forum, held in Antalya, brought together several heads of state, diplomats as well as international actors to discuss issues related to diplomacy, cooperation, and global challenges.
The participation of the Burundian Head of State in that diplomatic event was part of strengthening Burundi’s international relations and its contribution to discussions on major issues of global interest.
Upon his arrival at Antalya airport, President Ndayishimiye was welcomed by Ambassador Tolga Bermek, in charge of protocol for the forum. He was also expected to take part in the ADF leaders’ panel, alongside other heads of state and government.
