BUJUMBURA, November 18th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience on Friday, November 15, 2024, in the Ntare Rushatsi House, a delegation of the “Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD)”.

On the sidelines of the audience, Mark Wilson, president and CEO of that organization, told the press that President Ndayishimiye shared with them his vision for Burundian youth and that they discussed how the two parties can collaborate, given that the CRCD programme is entirely focused on youth.

“We appreciate the president’s vision and we are here to contribute to its implementation. So we want to focus on education and vocational training,” the president and CEO of the CRCD indicated, adding that this organization wants to focus on opportunities for young people, so that they can help build the country.

He also pointed out that President Ndayishimiye outlined the opportunities that this organization could exploit, by working with young people. Some of the opportunities in question are, among others, the construction of housing. He hoped that this organization would train those young people, so that they would be able to do it themselves.

“His Excellency has therefore presented to us, the opportunities that are available to us to achieve this, and we are therefore very happy to be in Burundi,” he expressed his impression.

“I see a lot of potential here in Burundi, and this potential lies in the young people. Young people are very intelligent, they are very energetic and are focused on building this country,” Mark Wilson underscored, indicating that he looks forward to working with the Head of State and the young people to build Burundi.

For his part, the deputy spokesperson of the President of the Republic, Sébastien Ntahongendera, indicated that the delegation of the CRCD, an organization specialized in community projects, noted that there are similarities between the projects of the CRCD and the vision of Burundi: an emerging country by 2024 and a developed country in 2060.

The President of the Republic insisted on the fact that it would be interesting to see those who are advanced in one or the other field share their experience with those who still need it to move forward, so that everyone can move towards a better world, Ntahongendera said. The latter indicated that the delegation cordially accepted the message of the Head of State inviting them to work in Burundi as they work in other countries.

It is worthy to note that the CRCD is based in Los Angeles, USA.
