GITEGA, April 18th (ABP) – The CNDD-FDD party in Gitega province (the political capital and center of Burundi) paid medical bills totaling 1,988,438 BIF for four patients who had been treated and cured but were detained at the regional hospital due to their inability to pay, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The provincial secretary of the CNDD-FDD party in Gitega, Georges Nshimirimana, who led these activities, explained that the funds came from offerings collected during the ecumenical prayers organized by the ruling party every last Thursday of the month, to thank the Lord for the blessings bestowed upon the Bagumyabanga and to entrust the upcoming week or month to Him.
The CNDD-FDD party in Gitega also paid 220,000 BIF for the purchase of medication for a child with a mental disorder who is undergoing treatment at the Gitega mental health care center.
The provincial secretary, Georges Nshimirimana, stated that the CNDD-FDD party in Gitega province decided to pay the bills for vulnerable patients in order to wish them a blessed Holy Week and Easter.

The director of the Gitega regional hospital, Dr. Éric Ndihokubwayo, highly praised the charitable acts carried out by the CNDD-FDD party toward the patients, regardless of their political, religious, or regional affiliations. He encouraged the Bagumyabanga to continue these acts to promote love for others.
