MUKAZA, April 8 (ABP) – The chairperson of the National Communication Council (CNC), Mrs. Espérance Ndayizeye, received in audience on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Mrs. Zhu Kewei, the new ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Burundi, on a working visit.
At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Zhu Kewei told the press that this visit is part of strengthening cooperation between the CNC and Chinese media. It also aimed to develop working relations with the embassy, with a view to contributing to the improvement of the press sector.
She reaffirmed her country’s commitment to working closely with Burundi, in order to further consolidate cooperation considered already fruitful between the two parties.
She also emphasized that the current year is dedicated to cultural exchanges between China and Africa. In this context, several activities are being prepared, aimed at promoting better mutual understanding between peoples and strengthening Sino-Burundian friendship ties.
Finally, Mrs. Zhu Kewei stressed the essential role of the media in disseminating information and bringing peoples closer together.
